The Kenyan flag was hoisted for the first time in the Baltics, on 11 September 2024, when H.E. Ambassador Angeline K. Musili, MBS, Kenya’s Ambassador to the Republic of Latvia with residence in Stockholm, Sweden, presented her letters of credence to the President of the Republic of Latvia, H.E. Edgars Rinkēvičs at Riga Castle, the residence of the President of the Republic of Latvia. This historic moment marks the first time the Kenyan flag has flown in the Baltics, signifying Kenya’s growing diplomatic presence in the region.

The presentation of the letters of credence formalises the commencement of Ambassador Musili’s diplomatic duties and affirms her role as the official representative of the Kenyan government to the Republic of Latvia.
