Kenya and Sweden share a longstanding partnership anchored in mutual respect and a shared vision for sustainable development, innovation, and inclusive growth. Sweden remains one of Kenya’s most valued development partners, supporting key sectors including the green transition, circular economy, governance, and trade.
Notably, Sweden is the world’s second-largest coffee consumer per capita, underscoring great potential for expanding trade in Kenya’s premium coffee, tea, horticulture, and tourism.
Today, H.E. Ambassador Angeline Musili, MBS, together with H.E. the Governor of Kericho County, held meetings with the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA), Business Sweden, and Renetech, a member of the Swedish–East Africa Chamber.
The discussions focused on strengthening Kenya–Sweden trade and investment cooperation, promoting sustainable exports, and positioning Kericho County—and Kenya more broadly—as prime destinations for foreign direct investment in agro-industry, renewable energy, tourism, and the circular economy.
We extend deep appreciation to the Government and the people of the Kingdom of Sweden for facilitating these productive engagements and for their continued friendship and partnership with Kenya.
