Ambassador Diana Kiambuthi Joins the University of Nairobi Delegation’s 2-Day Visit to DTU Skylab, Lyngby Campus, as They Aim to Foster Innovation and Entrepreneurship Through Strategic Partnership Discussions

Ambassador Diana Kiambuthi Joined Vice Chancellor Stephen Kiama and Associate Vice Chancellor Margaret Hutchinson from the University of Nairobi in their recent visit to DTU Lyngby Campus on April 12th and 13th. The purpose of the visit was to foster a strategic partnership between the two institutions, with a focus on innovation, entrepreneurship, and research, for the mutual benefit of both countries.

During their visit, Vice Chancellor Kiama and Associate Vice Chancellor Hutchinson engaged in productive discussions with DTU’s President, Anders Bjarklev, as well as researchers and innovation experts. On April 13th, Vice Chancellor Kiama delivered a presentation on Kenya, the University of Nairobi, and their innovative efforts in entrepreneurship.

The University of Nairobi’s visit to DTU Lyngby Campus reflects the ongoing collaboration between the two institutions, which share a commitment to impact-driven science and innovation in strategic internationalisation. DTU Skylab’s Next Generation Action program: Next Generation Water Action – powered by DTU SKYLAB, which featured several young participants from Kenya last year, showcased innovative, green, and sustainable solutions for addressing water-related issues. A program that was carried out in close collaboration with the Danish Embassy in Kenya.

The Embassy is excited about the possibilities this partnership offers for promoting research and innovation in Kenya and Denmark. The event was also attended by representatives from the Danish Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Danida, and the Confederation of Danish Industries, Staff, researchers and Students from DTU, and Alumni from the University of Nairobi.

Ambassador Diana Kiambuthi welcomed the alignment of this initiative with Kenya’s strategy for creating green, sustainable, and inclusive growth and further development of the partnership between Kenya and Denmark for innovation, entrepreneurship, research, and sustainable development.
