Health Insurance Requirement for all travellers to Kenya

The Kenya Embassy in Stockholm wishes to inform all travellers planning to visit Kenya of a new entry requirement introduced under the Social Health Insurance Regulations. Effective immediately, all inbound visitors travelling to Kenya for temporary stays including tourists, business travellers, students and other short-term visitors are required to have valid travel health insurance with a minimum medical coverage of US$50,000 before travelling to Kenya.
This requirement is intended to ensure that visitors can access medical care when necessary,
during their stay in Kenya.
Travellers are advised to:
Ensure their travel health insurance meets the required minimum coverage before departure.
Carry proof of valid insurance, which may be requested by the relevant authorities.
Confirm all entry requirements before travelling to avoid delays or inconvenience upon arrival.
The Embassy encourages all travellers to remain informed by consulting official Government of Kenya communication channels and their airlines before departure.
