Kenya Embassy Stockholm Co-Hosts Nordic Launch of the East Africa Investor Tour 2025

Stockholm, May 2025 — The Kenya Embassy in Stockholm, in collaboration with the Embassy of Rwanda and Helsinki-based advisory firm Remode, co-hosted the Nordic launch of the East Africa Investor Tour 2025. Held at the Embassy of Rwanda in Sweden, the event brought together over 25 participants, including investors, startup enablers, government officials, diaspora professionals, and strategic partners committed to strengthening investment ties between East Africa and the Nordic region.

During the session, H.E. (Mrs) Angeline Musili, MBS, Ambassador of the Republic of Kenya to Sweden, the Nordics, and the Baltics, welcomed the opportunity for enhanced collaboration. She underscored Kenya’s role as a regional anchor for entrepreneurship, digital innovation, and inclusive economic growth. The Ambassador reiterated Kenya’s commitment to improving the ease of doing business and fostering strong linkages between Nordic investors and Kenyan startups, SMEs, and companies.

“Let’s open doors to East Africa as an investment hub,” she stated. “Let us talk about East Africa—and let East Africa be known in the region.”
“Kenya is ready—with a strong innovation ecosystem, public-private partnerships, and a supportive regulatory environment—to contribute meaningfully to East Africa’s collective growth and prosperity.”

H.E. Dr. Diane Gashumba, Ambassador of the Republic of Rwanda to Sweden and the Nordics, echoed these sentiments, noting that East Africa is not only ready but united in creating a dependable, investor-friendly environment.

“This is no longer about showcasing potential—it’s about opening the door to real, scalable partnerships,” she remarked.

Participants engaged in dialogue on strategic pathways into East Africa’s key sectors, including ESG-aligned investment, digital infrastructure, education, and agri-value chains. Insights were shared by Business Sweden, Tinkr, and Norrsken—Nordic institutions already active in the region and contributing to early-stage innovation, entrepreneurial development, and sustainable investment.

Business Sweden reflected on the need to understand local regulatory frameworks and provide clear guidance to Swedish companies entering African markets. Tinkr, an innovation consultancy operating across Sweden and East Africa, emphasized co-creation and education-driven development as foundations for sustainable partnerships. Norrsken, a supporter of mission-driven startups, highlighted the importance of backing scalable African ventures with long-term capital.

A highlight of the session was the keynote delivered by Mr. Pierre Jallow, CEO of Remode, a market entry firm linking Africa with the Nordics and the DACH region. Mr. Jallow stressed that successful investment in Africa requires patience, presence, and partnership.

“There is no quick or easy business in Africa,” he noted. “But for those willing to walk with us, the returns are real—economically, socially, and strategically.”

As preparations for the East Africa Investor Tour 2025 advance, the Stockholm session affirmed a clear message: East Africa—is ready to be engaged. The Kenya Embassy in Stockholm remains committed to building trusted partnerships, promoting shared growth, and positioning Kenya—and East Africa—as a leading destination for global investment.
